DKC Show 2009

February 28 and March 1st was the Annual Detroit Kennel Club Dog show at the Cobo Hall. I attended Sunday-- Here are some highlight pics from my trip :)

First, we saw Marley, from the Movie Marley and Me. I can't remember the dog's name, but he was the actor-dog...

A StaffyBull in the Ring

A Gorgeous Saluki

Dogue De Bordeaux

Old English Sheepdog-- Can you see?

What well-behaved Chesapeake Bay Retrievers!

A Working Rottie with a Tail! Completely changes their look, doesn't it?

Chinese Crested... I prefer Todd :)

A Sad Neo in a Kennel :)

A Husky being Cute

"I wish I could go outside and run...."

English Setter

Standard Poodle.

Bedlington Terrier-- Or is that a lamb?

A pile of dreadlocks. Oh wait, that's a Puli.

A happy Doberman

And finally, Jordan visits the Recycle-Bee.

It was a great show! Uno, the Beagle that took first place at last year's Westminster Kennel Club Show, was there as well- couldn't snap a picture of him in time!

Archie passed the CGC Test!!!

Yay!!! This post is to Congratulate our own Archie, Now known as "Tazwell's Archie of the Rats CGC", on passing the AKC's Canine Good Citizen test!

The CGC test is a 10 step test that proves that Archie is a perfect Canine Good citizen-- he can accept friendly strangers doing strange things to him, accept other dogs politely, and even be left alone with a stranger for 3 minutes! More on the test, HERE.

Archie passed, and I'm SO Proud of him! Ask anybody, it took a lot of work to reach this point! We practiced a lot-- ask anybody who I dragged along to help me :)

He's also featured on the website of the trainer/behaviorist/evaluator that gave us the test, Michael Burkey! I REALLY recommend Michael to anybody who needs a trainer or behaviorist, or something of the sort-- he's a great guy! Thanks Michael!

Archie is featured in the 'Amazing Dogs' Page of his website, please check it out HERE.

Soon we'll receive his certificate, Rosette, Tag, and Bandanna that I HAD to order for him :D He does love his clothes!

Updated pics when they arrive, for sure!
